1 - YEMEN - 21 Maggio 2012. Continuano senza sosta le ondate di violenza e gli attentati nel Paese della Penisola Araba. Almeno 96 militari sono morti e 300 sono stati feriti oggi a Sana'a, la capitale, in un attentato kamikaze che ha avuto come obiettivo i preparativi per la parata militare in programma martedì in occasione del 22esimo anniversario dell'unificazione del Paese. L'attentatore ha indossato un'uniforme militare per confondersi ai tanti uomini dell'esercito presenti sul posto per le esercitazioni, quando all'improvviso si è fatto esplodere causando la strage. L'attacco è stato rivendicato da Al Qaida.

YEMEN - May 21, 2012. the waves of violence and attacks continue in the country of the Arabian Peninsula. At least 96 soldiers have died and 300 were wounded today in Sana'a, the capital, in a suicide bombing that was aimed to the preparations for the military parade on Tuesday on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of unification of the country. The bomber wore a military uniform to blend in to the many military men at the scene for the exercise, when suddenly blew himself up causing havoc. The attack was claimed by Al Qaeda.

2 - SIRIA - 22 Maggio 2012. Dodici pellegrini sciiti libanesi che stavano rientrando in patria dall'Iran attraverso la Siria sono stati rapiti oggi nella provincia di Aleppo dai ribelli dell'Esercito libero siriano (Els). Immediate le manifestazioni di protesta nei quartieri sciiti nel sud di Beirut, in particolare Bir al Abed, Shatila e al Msharraiyeh, nonostante l'Esercito libero siriano smentisca la cattura. Il leader del movimento sciita libanese Hezbollah, Seyed Hassan Nasrollah, ha comunque invitato i familiari di un gruppo di sciiti rapiti oggi in Siria dai ribelli a mantenere la calma e a mettere fine alle manifestazioni e al blocco di alcune strade, in modo da non complicare le trattative in corso per ottenere la liberazione dei rapiti.

SYRIA - May 22, 2012. Twelve Lebanese Shiite pilgrims who were returning home from Iran through Syria were kidnapped today in the province of Aleppo by the Syrian rebels free Army (Els). Immediate protests in Shiite neighborhoods in south Beirut, in particular the Bir Abed, Shatila and Msharraiyeh, despite the Syrian Army denies capture. The leader of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, Seyed Hassan Nasrollah, however, has invited the family members of the group of Shiites abducted by insurgents in Syria today to stay calm and put an end to demonstrations and blocking some streets, so as not to complicate ongoing negotiations to secure the release of the hostages.

3 - BRASILE - 23 Maggio 2012. Uno sciopero dei funzionari della metropolitana di San Paolo ha colto di sorpresa, in mattinata, gli abitanti della maggiore metropoli del Brasile e del Sudamerica, lasciando quasi 5 milioni di persone a piedi proprio mentre si preparavano ad andare a lavoro. L'agitazione è stata indetta per rivendicare aumenti salariali per l'intera categoria. Nell'intera area metropolitana si sono creati grandi ingorghi di auto, provocando code per un totale di 202 km.

BRAZIL - May 23, 2012. A strike by officials of the Metropolitan of St. Paul has surprised in the morning the inhabitants of the greatest metropolis of Brazil and South America, leaving nearly 5 million people to their feet as they prepared to go to work. The agitation was called to claim wage increases for the entire category. Throughout the metropolitan area have created large traffic jams of cars, causing queues for a total of 202 km.

4 - MALI - 24 Maggio 2012. Sono stati raggiunti degli accordi che prevedono la convivenza di due presidenti provvisori incaricati di garantire la transizione dopo il colpo di Stato del 22 marzo scorso operato dall'esercito. Il primo è Dioncounda Traorè mentre il secondo è il capitano Amadou Haya Sanogo, che ha guidato i militari che hanno rovesciato il presidente Amadou Toumani Tourè. I due leader dovranno collaborare per assicurare la pacificazione e la stabilizzazione del Paese per i prossimi 12 mesi, al termini dei quali dovranno essere indette elezioni democratiche per dar vita al nuovo corso del Paese centroafricano.

MALI - May 24, 2012. There have been reached agreements that provide for the coexistence of the two interim presidents in charge of ensuring the transition after the coup of March 22 operated by the army. The first is Dioncounda Traore while the second is the captain Amadou Sanogo Haya, who led the military overthrew President Amadou Toumani Toure. The two leaders will work together to ensure the pacification and stabilization of the country for the next 12 months, in terms of which shall be called democratic elections to create the new course of the central African country.

5 - SOMALIA - 25 Maggio 2012. Le truppe dell'Unione africana (UA) a supporto delle milizie del governo di transizione somalo hanno conquistato la città di Afgoye a circa 30 km a nord-ovest da Mogadiscio, una delle roccaforti dei ribelli al Shabaab, fondamentalisti legati al al Qaida che da tempo conducono azioni militari contro il governo centrale. Con la cattura di Afgoye si apre un corridoio di sicurezza che permette l'accesso di aiuti umanitari alla popolazione della capitale, altrimenti in difficoltà per l'impossibilità di far giungere rifornimenti.

SOMALIA - May 25th, 2012. The troops of the African Union (AU) in support of the Somali transitional government troops took the city of Afgoye about 30 km northwest of Mogadishu, one of the strongholds of al Shabaab insurgents, fundamentalists linked to al Qaeda that lead-time military actions against the central government. the capture of Afgoye opens a safe corridor that allows access of humanitarian aid to the population of the city, otherwise difficult for the impossibility to get supplies.

6 - EGITTO - 26 Maggio 2012. Nelle prime elezioni svolte in Egitto nel dopo-Mubarak i dati ufficiosi danno come vittoriosi del primo turno e destinati al ballottaggio Mohamed Morsi dei Fratelli musulmani, dato come favorito, e l'ex premier del regime caduto lo scorso anno, Ahmad Shafiq. Proprio quest'ultimo ha dichiarato oggi di essersi impegnato con i giovani ed i movimenti degli attivisti a "restituire loro la rivoluzione e i suoi frutti che sono stati rubati". "Sarò all'altezza dei vostri sogni", ha assicurato, tuttavia il Movimento 6 aprile ha respinto le sue promesse affermando che il candidato conservatore è uomo che lotta per il ritorno.

EGYPT - May 26, 2012. In the first elections held in Egypt in the post-Mubarak unofficial data given as victorious for the first round and next to the ballot the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Morsi, given as a favorite, and the former prime minister of the regime fell last year, Ahmad Shafiq. He said today that it has engaged with young people and activists of the movement to "restore their revolution and its fruits that have been stolen." "I'll be up to your dreams", he assured, however the April 6 Movement has rejected its promises by saying that the conservative candidate is a man who fights for the return of the regime.

7 - MAROCCO - 27 Maggio 2012. Decine di migliaia di persone sono scese in piazza a Casablanca, in Marocco, contro il governo per chiedere ''un miglioramento della situazione sociale''. Si tratta della più imponente manifestazione contro il governo formato a gennaio da Abdelilah Benkirane dopo le elezioni di novembre, in cui il suo Partito islamico moderato ha ottenuto una netta affermazione. La manifestazione è stata indetta dalla Confederazione democratica del Lavoro e la Federazione democratica del Lavoro.

MOROCCO - May 27, 2012. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Casablanca, Morocco, against the government ''to ask an improvement of the social situation''. This is the largest demonstration against the government formed in January by Abdelilah Benkirane after the November elections, in which his moderate Islamic party won a clear statement. The event was organized by the Democratic Confederation of Labour and the Democratic Federation of Labour.

1 - MYANMAR - 19 Marzo 2012. E' stato liberato oggi un anziano leader della minoranza etnica Karen, che da oltre mezzo secolo lotta per una maggiore autonomia dal governo centrale della popolazione al confine con la Thailandia. Mahn Nyein Maung era stato condannato a 20 anni di carcere la settimana scorsa dalle autorità governative per reati politici, visto che in attesa delle elezioni in primavera il Paese è ancora in mano ad una dittatura militare. La sua liberazione, avvenuta grazie ad un indulto, consentirà di riaprire i negoziati tra governo e Karen, che si erano avviati dopo aver concordato un cessate il fuoco in Gennaio per interrompersi con l'arresto di Maung.

1 - MYANMAR - 19th March 2012. Today has been freed an old leader of the ethnical minority called Karen, which for more than 50 years is fighting for a deeper authonomy from the central government of this population on the boarder of Thailand. Mahn Nyein Maung was condemned to 20 years of jail the last week, from the governative authorities for political crimes, because until the spring elections the Country is still in the hands of a military dictatorship. His release, occurred thanks to a pardon, will let the reopening of the negotiates between the Karens and the government, that started after having agreed a cease-fire in January, stopped with the arrest of Maung.

2 - IRAQ - 20 Marzo 2012. Questa mattina si sono verificate esplosioni in varie città del Paese che hanno causato 39 morti e più di 180 feriti. Gli attentati più violenti, tutti condotti con ordigni e bombe rudimentali, sono stati portati a Kerbala, città santa per gli sciiti, con almeno 13 morti, ed a Kirkuk, dove le vittime sono state non meno di 7. Una bomba è esplosa pure vicino al Ministero degli Esteri a Baghdad, dove però non sembrano esserci vittime. Oggi ricorre il nono anniversario dall'invasione statunitense del Paese, ma alcuni esperti ritengono che dietro a questi attentati potrebbe esserci il desiderio di diverse nazioni di far fallire il prossimo vertice della Lega Araba, che si riunirà nei prossimi giorni a Baghdad, composto in larga maggioranza da sunniti.

2- IRAQ – 20th March 2012. This morning explosions detonated in different cities of the Country, causing 39 deaths and more than 180 hurted. The most violent attacks, all led with raw bombs and explosive devices, took place in Kerbala, holy city for Shiites, with 13 deaths at least, and in Kirkuk, where the deaths are not less than 7. A bomb exploded near the Foreign Ministry in Baghdad, however it seems there have been no victims. Today is the 9th anniversary of the USA invasion of the Country, but some experts think that behind these attacks there could be the desire of several countries to sabotate the next Arab League meeting, that will take place in Baghdad in the next days, composed mostly from Sunni people.
3 - MALI - 21 Marzo 2012. Questo pomeriggio a Bamako, capitale del Paese, un gruppo di militari ha preso il controllo della tv di Stato. Nella città ci sono state molte sparatorie da parte dei soldati che si sono poi diretti verso il palazzo presidenziale, circondandolo con mezzi blindati. In serata il palazzo è stato attaccato ed i militari sono riusciti a portare a termine con successo il colpo di Stato, mentre nelle strade sono continuate per tutto il giorno scontri tra i militari golpisti e quelli fedeli al vecchio governo. Non è ancora chiara la sorte del Presidente Amadou Toumani Tourè. I militari, che dichiarano di aver agito per rimediare all'incapacità del governo, hanno immediatamente sospeso la Costituzione ed imposto il coprifuoco.

3 - MALI - 21th March 2012. This afternoon in Bamako, capital city of the Country, a group of servicemen took the head of the State tv. In the city there have been many shooting from the soldiers that suddenly went to the presidential palace, surrounding it with armored vehicles. In the evening the palace has been attacked and the soldiers could finalize the military coup, while in the streets the shootings between the servicemen of the military coup and the regular soldiers continued all day long. The fate of the president Amadou Toumani Tourè. The servicemen, that declared to have acted remedy to the incapacity of the government, have immediately suspended the Constitution and imposed the curfew.

4 - SIRIA - 22 Marzo 2012. La guerra civile che ormai da mesi è in scena nel Paese, dove gli oppositore del regime di Bashar Al Assad si scontrano quotidianamente con l'esercito, si allarga sempre di più. La repressione dell'esercito, che finora ha causato più di 8.000 morti, è arrivata fino in Libano, dove stamattina sette razzi hanno colpito il villaggio di al-Qaa, zona in cui giungono spesso i profughi siriani, ferendo una persona. Intanto il Consiglio di sicurezza delle Nazioni Unite chiede nuovamente al regime ed ai ribelli di applicare il piano di pace approvato negli scorsi giorni, minacciando provvedimenti più radicali in caso di rifiuto. Il provvedimento prevede il cessate il fuoco e l'avvio di un dialogo politico democratico nel Paese. Tuttavia, nel corso del pomeriggio, si sono registrati altri morti in varie città siriane.

4 - SYRIA - 22th March 2012. The civilil war that for months is taking part in the Country, where the opposers of the Bashar Al Assad regimen are fighting daily with the army, is getting wider. The repression of th Army, that until now caused more than 8.000 victims, has arrived up to Lebanon, where this morning seven rockets have hit the village of Al-Qaa, an area in which usually arrive Syrian refugees, hurting a person. Meanwhile, the Security Council of th UN is asking again to the regimen and the rebels to apply the peace plan approved in the last days, threating more radical punishments in case of refuse. The measure wants the cease-fire and the start of a political and democratic dialogue in the Counrty. However, during the afternoon, news of deaths arrived from several Syrian cities.

5 - ISRAELE E PALESTINA - 23 Marzo 2012. Da un rapporto ONU emerge che i coloni israeliani in Cisgiordania, nella località di Mateh Binyamin, vogliono trasformare in centri turistici oltre 30 sorgenti di acqua potabile, impedendone così l'accesso ai contadini palestinesi. Il testo, che accusa i coloni della West Bank di soprusi e violenze, denuncia il fatto che già le sorgenti vengono presidiate del personale di sicurezza degli insediamenti e che ora i coloni sarebbero intenzionati a costruirvi intorno centri turistici per poter sfruttare le polle acquifere. Sono già stati costruiti panchine, tavoli da picnic e parcheggi, tutto senza permesso. In passato alcuni contadini che hanno tentato di avvicinarsi alle sorgenti sono rimasti uccisi. Così, a più di 60 anni dalla deviazione del fiume Giordano per impedirne la fruizione a palestinesi e siriani, Israele continua a privare di acqua le popolazioni limitrofe come strategia per i propri fini occupazionistici.

5 - ISRAEL AND PALESTINE - 23th March 2012. From an ONU report comes out that the israelian colons in West Bank, in the place called Mateh Binyamin, want to transform 30 springs of pourable water in touristic centers, by doing so blocking the access to the Palestinian coutrymen. The text, that accuse the West Bank colons of violences and bad acts, denounces the fact that the springs are already surveilled by the security staff of the centers and now the colons intent to build around touristic centers to exploit the natural water pools. Benches, picnic tables and parkings are already realized, everything without permission. In the past, some countrymen that have tried to get near to the springs have been killed. So, 60 years far from the deviation of the West Bank river to avoid the seizing to Palestinians and Syrians, Israel keep on depriving of pourable water the nearby populations as a strategy for their occupational aims.

6 - INDIA - 24 Marzo 2012. Questa mattina 50 ribelli maoisti, appartenenti cioè allo stesso gruppo che nei giorni scorsi ha sequestrato due italiani, hanno catturato un parlamentare indiano, Jhina Hikaka, nel distretto di Koraput. Per la sua liberazione i maoisti, che lottano da tempo per una maggiore indipendenza delle regioni nord-occidentali inseguendo l'ideale comunista di Mao Tze-Tung, hanno richiesto la fine delle azioni militari anti-maoiste ed il rilascio di alcuni prigionieri. Questi rapimenti mirano a mettere in difficoltà il governo di fronte all'opinione pubblica, così come il sequestro dei due italiani rientra in una strategia volta a mettere in crisi Nuova Delhi nei rapporti internazionali.

6 - INDIA - 24th March 2012. This morning 50 maoist rebels, part of the same group that in the last days has kidnapped two Italians, have captured an Indian polician, Jhina Hikaka, in the district od Koraput. For his releasing the Maoists, fighting fo a wider independence of the north-west regions since long time, following the communist ideal of Mao Tze-Tung, have asked for the endinf of the military actions anti-maoists and the releasing of some prisoners. These kidnappings aim to put in difficulty the government facing the public opinion, as the same as the kidnapping of the two Italians enters into a strategy aimed to put in crysis New Delhi in the international relationships.
7 - SENEGAL - 25 Marzo 2012. Va in scena oggi il secondo turno di elezioni per nominare il nuovo Presidente. Dopo la prima votazione di circa un mese fa, oggi le urne sono aperte per il ballottaggio tra il capo di stato uscente Abdoulaye Wade, 85 anni, al potere dal 2000, e il suo ex primo ministro Macky Sall, 50 anni, che e' riuscito ha ottenere l'appoggio di tutta l'opposizione e di gran parte della societa' civile. Il voto si è svolto senza incidenti, data anche la supervisione di 300 agenti internazionali per controllare la sua regolarità. I risultati saranno resi noti nei prossimi giorni, ma sembra che Sall abbia buone possibilità di vittoria, viste le dure contestazioni dei mesi scorsi nei confronti di Wade.

7 - SENEGAL - 25th March, 2012. Today it's in program the second round of elections to appoint the new President. After the first vote about a month ago, today polls are open for a runoff between the incumbent head of state Abdoulaye Wade, 85 years old, in power since 2000, and his ex Prime Minister Macky Sall, 50 years old, who has gained the support of all opposition and much of the population. The vote took place without incident, due to the supervision of 300 international staff, to check its validity. The results will be announced in the coming days, but it seems that Sall has a good chance of winning, considering the tough challenges of recent months against Wade.
