THE WEEK IN A WORLD MAP _ lun. 27.02.2012

1 - YEMEN - 20 Febbraio 2012.

The nation had just overcame the regimen of Ali Abdallah Saleh, and these elections should ratify the charge of provisory State Chief of Abd Rabbo Mansour al Hadi, already vice-president during the last government. However, plenty of clashes between law enforcement agencies and civilians had been registered in the last period, and the general situation preceeding elections is still very hot. The death of a militar agent in the gunfire successed to the attempt confirms this atmosphere.

From one side stones are launched, the other side replies with bullets and tear gas, increasing the pile of deaths among the protesters. The Senegalese law permits at the height two terms of office while Wade just candidated himself  for the third time in a row, causing the indignation of the oppositions to wich it had been prohibited from the authority to manifest. Now the perspective of a civil war is not so far from reality.

4 - SIRIA - 22 Febbraio 2012.

Syria is sinking, day after day, in the black hole of the massacre, slipping to an  already announced civil war. 5 - IRAQ - 23 Febbraio 2012.

ISRAEL AND PALESTINE – 25th February 2012. in Jerusalem, hundreds of muslim palestinians started to throw stones aiming the Mughrabi bridge, in the direction of the Wailing Wall, frightening the praying faithful Jews. As a reply, soldiers of the Army and cops intervented in the clearing ground with stunning grenades and by arresting several people in the sacred place for muslims. The violent protest from the palestinians in largely motivated from the words of Moshe Feiglin, leader of the Manhigut Yehudit (extreme-right wing party) who, in the first part of February, had invited all of his supporters to break-in to the clearing ground to “clean it up from Muslims”. Some followers of the party, in the last days, effectively went to the Mount of the Temple provoking the mulslim faithfuls.
